July 23-26
This weekend I had tons of fun! One of the highlights was a stroll through Central Park with Kimberly. We were also able to absorb a little Vitamin D ;)
I also saw an old, dear friend Maxine this weekend. She was in the city for the week and we had a great time catching up over Chipotle...

June 11-22
What a blur these past couple weeks have been. I've been so busy becoming aquainted with my new job, my new roommates, this new city- I've honestly, barely had time to think!

Babies
Today I sat by this cute, little babe on the way back to NYC.
It made me thing about how old I'm getting.
And how fast time goes by.
Ugh.

Last Day of Training
Yes, today was my last day of training at Time Inc. The day has finally come! The day was full of last minute questions and advice. Next week, I will be on my own!
This weekend however, will be used only to relax, rejuvenate and rest up for what I know will be a challenging second week on the job. Not only will I be on my own for the first time, I will also be moving into my new apartment. I'm excited but I know it won't be a walk in the park.
Anyways, I'm off to Justin's beach house in RI for the weekend, SEE YA!

Day FOUR and New Apartment
Today was a BIG day. I got my official Time Inc. work pass, my name on my office area ANNNNNNNND the grand finale, a place to live in NYC!! After work, I went to meet the two girls who I'll be living with. I also wanted to check out the apartment. Well, lucky me, it was amazing and I absolutely loved it!
We decided I would move in officially on Monday, after the memorial day weekend.
I feel so completely blessed that things are working out so well. Also, I can't wait to start my life in NEW YORK CITY!!!

Day two, not too shabby.
My second day at All You, went much MUCH better. After finally getting some sleep and loading myself up with Advil, I was ready to go. All day I asked tons of questions, took a million pages of notes and really began to understand what my job entailed. It also helps that I have such a WONDERFUL trainer, who is so patient, smart, understanding and KIND. She genuinely cares about making my transition as smooth as possible.
In conclusion, day two, not too shabby.

First Day at Time Inc.
Last night I got into NYC at around 11:30pm. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to spend my last night in Fairfield with my friends at the Grape. Instead, I was rushing to pack up and catch the last train to NYC. Brendan, my cousin, is letting me crash at his apartment for a week or so until I figure out where I'm living and what I'm doing exactly. Lucky me, his apartment is only a TEN MINUTE walk from my office, so I have an extra hour or so in the morning to sleep.
As I said, today was my first day at my new job as Publishing Coordinator at All You. To be honest, today was a long day. I left feeling extremely overwhelmed by all the training. Not to mention, I am sick and running on very little sleep. I could barely keep my eyes open.
However, in the words of my cousin Rosie, "You will only have one first day."

Graduation
Graduation day has finally arrived. Everyone was extremely tired from last nights festivities and it was quite difficult to drag myself out of bed this morning. After trying to make myself look somewhat presentable, Jess, Sam and I headed to the ceremony together. Unfortunately, it was raining and extremely cold out so we had to put on ponchos under our gowns.
When the ceremony finally began at 9:30am, the rain had stopped . It was such a surreal feeling walking into the ceremony and being watched by all of our family, friends, professors and Fairfield administration. Also, to our surprise, we learned that Donald Trump was a member of the audience as his sister was our commencement speaker. Pretty cool! (I saw him).
The ceremony was set up beautifully. I thought the Valedictorian's speech was especially inspiring and passionate. The red roses were exquisite.
Watching each member of the senior class walk up the stairs of the President's house and receive their diplomas from Father Von Arx, I couldn't help feeling a little sad that I may never see some of these people again. I really can't believe how fast the last four years have gone by and how much has changed since Freshman year.
After the ceremony was over, we all exited the same way we entered, but this time with college degrees and endless possibilities for the future.
As for me, I start work on Monday in NYC. My life is really going to begin and I can't even put into words how I'm feeling.

ONE. MORE. DAY.
Tonight my family finally arrived in Fairfield. To celebrate my graduation, my aunt hosted a delicious dinner at her house in Fairfield. I was so happy to be with my family *especially my sisters who I haven't be able to spend much time with*. After dinner and a delicious chocolate cake, my sisters, Rosie and I headed to my beach house. I was so excited for my sisters to meet all of my roommates and friends from Fairfield. Justin also made the trip from Boston so he could celebrate with us. After a few drinks, I took my sisters, Rosie and Justin to the Grape. It was chaos. People were literally packed into the bar, shoulder to shoulder. Although it was so crowded and everyone was covered in sweat, I think everyone enjoyed themselves (especially me!). I was so proud to introduce my beautiful family to everyone.

Getting Ready
Today I spent a lot of time getting ready to leave Fairfield and move to NYC on SUNDAY! I packed up (almost) my entire room. Somehow, someway I fit everything into my tiny Mazda.
2 days till graduation. I can't believe it!

NC to MD to CT
Today was the loooooongest day. After a late night out, I had to wake up at 6am to get started on our SIX hour trip back to Maryland. Once I got to Maryland, I had an hour to pack and get ready to catch the SIX hour train from Maryland to Connecticut. After the train ride, I was about ready to faint. Luckily, Sam picked me up at the train station (THANK YOU!) and at 11pm I finally made it home. What a day!

Wakeforest
Today my grandparents, my parents and I drove SIX hours to Winston Salem, NC for my twin sister Katie's graduation on Monday. It's insane to think about how fast the last four years have flown by.
Tonight we are going to a graduation party at Christine's house, one of Katie's good friends. I can't wait to meet her boyfriend and all her good friends from Wakeforest.

Family Time
I spent the whole day with my Mom and Dad. It felt really good to get away from school and relax with them. I can't remember the last time I spent a whole day with them. For dinner, my grandparents came over. There's no place like home!

DC Bound
This morning I woke up SUPER early to get on a train to DC. I have finally arrived and it feels so good to be home. My mom and I went straight over to my cousins to help her get ready for prom. I was the designated makeup artist. She looked amazing in Tina's old BCBG prom dress. To be honest, watching her and all her friends take prom pictures and pin the boutonnieres on their dates made me feel ANCIENT. I can't believe it was four years ago that I went to my last high school prom.
It feels so good to see my mom and dad. I love being with my family. I can't wait to get to NC and see Katie and Tina!

Boston Magazine
I had an interview with Boston Magazine today. I was a little panicked this morning because we couldn't find the building. However, we figured it out and I made it just in time. The interview went smoothly and I left feeling excited about any potential opportunities in the future.

Fairfield to Boston
I had another interview with Time Inc. today in NYC. It went very well. I'm excited that things are moving along so positively. Now all I can do is wait and hope for the best :)
Directly after the interview, I rushed back to Fairfield to meet Justin so we could drive to Boston in time for the Red Sox game. Justin is trying his best to convert me into a Red Sox fan (and all Boston sports for that matter) by spoiling me with different sports paraphernalia from his favorite teams.
The game was so much fun. We had great seats and could see the players very clearly. We enjoyed the game over beers, peanuts, popcorn and ball park hot dogs! To top it off, RED SOX won! It was a great night.

Picnic
Justin and I found the most beautiful spot to have a picnic today. It was a bright, sunny day and we decided to go for a drive. We found ourselves in the middle of the woods with a giant body of water to our right. We stopped at a little deli to pick up some food and headed back to our spot. We sat on a large, warm rock by the water. It was perfect!

Sam's Birthday!
Today was Sam's Birthday! Jess, Sam and I started the day by going to a wonderful brunch at Greenhouse Grill. Then, Sam and I spent a couple hours shopping. It was nice to get out of the house and enjoy the beautiful day. After that, Sam went to dinner with Jack and we got right to work. We set up all the yummy desserts and decorations to surprise her when she got back. At approximately 8:50pm Sam entered the house and a bunch of us jumped out of our hiding places and surprised her! We sang happy birthday and she blew out her candles. It was a success! I've never really planned a surprise party before but for my first time I think it went superb! It was so nice to see her smiling and surrounded by her close friends.
Happy Birthday Sam! I love you!

Last Day at O
Today, was my last day at O. It was a bittersweet feeling. I've had such a great internship, met so many wonderful people and have truly been inspired through my experience. I really am sad to go but at the same time I realize this is just the beginning of a new chapter in my life. I'm so excited for the future! I finally know what I want to do with my life and to me, that's huge.
For my last day some of my coworkers put together a little going away party for me! It was so thoughtful and unexpected. Thanks everyone!
Goodbye O, I'll miss you!
Also, Happy Cinco De Drinko!! Tonight is Taco Night at Pier 7.

I looooooooooove the sun. I looooove that I am using the AC in my car. I loooooooove all the pink flowers surrounding our beach house! I love the grass! I looooooooove SPRING!
I'm thrilled to finally enjoy the beautiful beach in our backyard!
Now, all I need is a tan.

Clam Jam
Today was the day of the famous Clam Jam event! Everyone from Freshman to Seniors attended. It's really amazing how many people showed up. To call it crazy would be an understatement. Thanks to The Bunny the music was pumping and everyone was having a great time! Pier 7, our little beach house, got completely trashed but I have to say, it was well worth it.Overall, it was a great success and a highlight of the year in my book.

Fiction
Tonight I went to an event in which I was reading an excerpt from a story I wrote in my fiction class. The story was called The Other Woman. It was the first time I'd ever done anything like that. I am kind of shy when it comes to sharing my writing with other people. It definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone but I'm so happy I did it!
